To both Marian Elliott and Rhonnda Sayers who both retired on Friday 27th November. They have been the friendly smiling member service officers over the past 5 years. Following is a message from them both to all our members.
As 2020 started we were both excited to know by the end of April we would be retired but still apprehensive after working most of our lives. In January after the devastating news of the sudden passing of our colleague and friend Liz Vella we knew it was the right decision for us. Life is too short and we had many plans for the future. Then Covid hit and the opportunity to work from home arose. Thinking it would only be for a couple of months we decided to stay. With no end in sight and not knowing if and when the office would reopen we decided the end of November was the right time. As we have worked together in credit unions for the past thirty years we felt it would be fitting to retire together.
We will not miss travelling from Romsey and Bendigo but we will miss our friends and members at the Credit Union. We wish Firefighters Credit Co-op and staff all the very best with the merger which we think will be great for our members, with a wider range of products and better interest rates.
All the best to the members which we have had the pleasure to serve on behalf of Firefighters.
All the best for 2021 and beyond.
Rhonnda & Marian
